The Edgewater Arts Council has issued a last call for artists to its 16th annual Arts & Jazz Festival, Sunday, September 9.

Although late entries are acceptable, until space is gone, orders for tables and chairs will not be accepted by the suppliers after August 30 – so attendance will be BYOT.

The “T” is for tables or tents, according to Festival President Neda Rose, who notes that the annual event features a juried fine arts, crafts, sculpture and photography competition with cash awards.

The festival includes live jazz all day on an outdoor stage. Six restaurants will be open and food will also be served outdoors. The Vintage Automobile Show will again be a feature of the Arts Festival. It has been organized for the fourth year by the Edgewater Cultural & Historical Committee, and is located across River Road on Edgewater Commons.

Since 1998, the Borough of Edgewater has closed the Shadyside section to traffic so visitors can stroll freely on Old River Road. Free shuttle busses transport them to and from Edgewater Commons Shopping Center, for the auto show and free parking.

The Edgewater Arts Council is a non profit, non partisan organization of volunteers created 16 years ago to broaden awareness of visual and performing arts and crafts. It is supported by commercial and private benefactors and the Borough of Edgewater.

Additional funding is made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
