The Edgewater Arts Council celebrates its 20th anniversary with the 20th Annual Edgewater Arts & Music Festival, to be held in Edgewater, NJ on Sunday, September 18, 2011. The day-long event is a FREE celebration of the arts and is open to the public from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Over 3000 people are expected to attend this annual event, on the section of Edgewater known as Shadyside at the intersections of Old River Road and Thompson Lane. A juried art competition will award $3000 in prizes in the categories of art, photography, fashion design and crafts. A $1000 “Best of Show” prize, donated by the Edgewater Borough Council, will be awarded honoring former Mayor Nancy Merse.
Attendees will be able to enjoy four well-known jazz artists and their groups. Performing throughout the day will be the Carrie Jackson Quintet, the Jake Hertzog (guitarist) Trio with bassist Harvie S and drummer Victor Jones, AMB, the Annie Minogue Band and contemporary Latin jazz guitarist Nelson Riveros Quartet.
10:00 AM Vintage Auto Show opens, Edgewater Commons –
Free shuttle bus every 10 minutes between Edgewater Commons and Art & Music Festival at Shadyside
11:00 AM Edgewater Art & Music Festival Opens. Art Booths Open
Food Vendors Open, Live music on Main Stage
12:30 PM Nelson Riveros Quartet, contemporary Latin jazz guitarist
1:30 PM Jake Hertzog Trio, jazz guitarist with bassist Harvie S and drummer Victor Jones
2:30 PM AMB -Annie Minogue Band
3:30 PM Auto awards given, Edgewater Commons
3:30 PM Carrie Jackson Quintet
4:30 PM Juried Art Competition awards given, Main Stage, Shadyside
6:00 PM Festival closes
Music Director is Larry Lipsen who, each year, brings top talent to the increasingly popular Edgewater Arts & Music Festival. All music performers will appear on the Main Stage located on Old River Road. Seating is provided for attendees.
The 8th annual Vintage Auto Show, sponsored by Edgewater’s Cultural and Historical Committee, is located at Edgewater Commons from 10-4 PM. It features Fords built in the Edgewater Ford assembly plant from 1930-1954. Also featured will be “movie cars” from the vintage private collection of Jerry McSpirit of Alpine, NJ, who provides automobiles to the movie industry. 
Free parking and shuttle buses run all day from Edgewater Commons to the Festival. Art award winners will be announced from the main stage on Old River Road at 4:30 PM. Auto awards will be given at 3:30 PM at the Edgewater Commons.
